About Me
Bobby as in Robert Reid. Trained in Oklahoma public schools. Bought my first 'lectric guitar and a copy of 'Shout at the Devil' on the same day in November 1983. Listen to music while working -- mostly travel writing for Lonely Planet (Russia, Bulgaria, Myanmar, New York City, Nebraska, Central America). Like great albums, sure, but tend to prefer half-way albums by still great bands (eg prefer Stones' 'Emotional Rescue' to 'Sticky Fingers' or lame 'Bridges to Babylon,' and Lou Reed's 'Coney Island Baby' over VU's 'Loaded' or the awful 'Raven'). Believe the most underrated, overlooked road in America is the Natchez Trace, which roughly connects the 'crossroads' in the Mississippi Delta with Nashville -- and the homes of the two musics that's the core of everything I like. That and candied treats.
