Sonic Youth Expand Daydream Nation

Sonic Youth
Daydream believers
On June 12th, Sonic Youth will reissue its highly influential Daydream Nation into a deluxe two-disc set. It's hard to believe this album is nearly 20 years old (via Billboard)!
The original album is featured on the first disc of the deluxe edition, which is appended with a home demo of "Eric's Trip." The second disc includes live renditions of every track on the studio release, captured at such venues as New York's CBGB and Amsterdam's Paradiso.

Rounding out the second disc are four covers: the Beatles' "Within You Without You" from the tribute album "Sgt. Pepper new My Father," Neil Young's "Computer Age" from "The Bridge," Captain Beefheart's "Electricity" from "Fast and Bulbous" and Mudhoney's "Touch Me, I'm Sick," which was released as a split 7-inch vinyl single with that band on Sub Pop in 1988.
The band will be performing the album in its entirety across the globe this summer.

"Recorded entirely under solar power," Brightblack Morning Light like things like tee-pees, headbands and most likely hallucinogenic drugs. More solar power to 'em. Their second album of slow motion hippie blues, Motion to Rejoin, is due September 23rd on Matador. [DOWNLOAD]
