Merge Records Opens Digital Music Store

Merge Records The ever so respectable Merge Records has gotten into the digital music game with their very own virtual record store. Not only will the label offer the popular MP3 format, but the fancy CD-quality FLAC for all Merge releases plus rarities unavailable elsewhere. Via Merge:
Merge Records dives headfirst into the 21st century with the launch of our very own digital store. Get instant gratification of all your Merge desires via high quality MP3 and CD-quality FLAC files!

We will soon have releases in our digital store that you cannot get anywhere else including rare, out of print, and exclusive new material from your favorite Merge artists. Unlike other digital outlets, we can provide the typically excellent personal service that mailorder customers have come to expect from Merge, and we will soon be offering full album art, and liner notes.

While we still view physical record stores as our favorite place to buy (and sell) music, for those who prefer to get their music digitally, we want to make the experience as close as it can be to “the real thing” with all the convenience and speed of a download.

In celebration of this occasion, the much sought-after out-of-print Superchunk Clambake Series Volume One: Acoustic in-stores East and West will be available beginning March 4th only in our digital store.

Stay tuned as we continue to add new, exclusive and out-of-print releases to our download roster and check out the front page of the Merge store to preview (and preorder) our upcoming releases.
