Joanna Newsom to Perform Ys With the Brooklyn Philharmonic

Joanna Newsom The New York Times previews Joanna Newsom's upcoming performances of Ys with the Brooklyn Philharmonic on January 31st and February 1st and interviews the "indie singer-harpist" about translating the album live:
In a telephone interview from her home in Northern California, Ms. Newsom said she was ready to give “Ys” its valedictory. “The gravity of that record for me is so massive that I need to take my head out of it, or else I can’t do the kind of work I want to do, to move on,” she said. “It kind of makes me sad to be in the world I was in when I was writing that.
