Video: Devendra Banhart - "Seahorse"

Let's just face it. Devendra Banhart's home movies are more fun than your parents' old Super 8 films. Unless of course your parents let their freak flag fly at some groovy Topanga Canyon hideout thirty years ago. In these behind the scenes clips from the Smokey Rolls Down Thunder Canyon sessions, Devendra and his Hairy Fairies hang with actor Gael GarcĂa Bernal, kick out some jamz, play with BB guns, throw knives... you know, usual sh*t—all this and more set to Banhart's eight-minute epic "Seahorse."

Devendra Banhart - "Seahorse":

Smokey Rolls Down Thunder Canyon is out September 25th. A new website has been launched in its honor.

MP3: Devendra Banhart Interview for the Fader

Devendra Banhart The current issue of the Fader pays tribute to Jerry Garcia and his "force in music right now—for hippies and non-hippies alike." The magazine tapped Naturalismo's most preeminent hippie, Devendra Banhart, for his thoughts on the head Dead and have posted them on the Fader blog for download or stream. Among his ponderings: Jerry Garcia red wine is better for you than tap water. Who knew?

Visit the Fader to listen to the interview.
