Wolf Parade Bow To Critics, Change Album Title

Wolf Parade After the Pitchfork provoked backlash to the title of Wolf Parade's forthcoming follow-up to Apologies To The Queen Mary it appears the band has had second thoughts. P4K labeled Kissing The Beehive "terrible" and soon enough other critics fell in line.

Really? Was it that bad?

CMJ is now reporting the album to be either entitled To Be Determined or to actually be determined. Confused?

To Be Determined (or to be determined) Tracklist:

1. Soldier's Grin
2. Call It A Ritual
3. Language City
4. Bang Your Drum
5. California Dreamer
6. The Grey Estates
7. Fine Young Cannibals
8. An Animal In Your Care
9. Kissing The Beehive

UPDATE: CMJ has retracted (without mention-- tisk, tisk) their report that To Be Determined was a possible title. The title is now truly to be determined.

Feist Wins Five Juno Awards

Feist Yeah, so your mom and your little sister know about Leslie Feist thanks to Steve Jobs. Does that really make her less cool? Well, maybe... But not according to Juno—not the slang talkin' pregnant teen but the awards ceremony better known as the Canadian Grammy's. (via Billboard)
Taking single of the year for "1 2 3 4," album of the year and pop album of the year for "The Reminder," Feist took the accolades in stride, joking that her family, who attended the event, were rarely in the same room, let alone one involving a red carpet.

The awards were vindication for the singer, raised in Calgary but now residing in Toronto and Paris, who was shut out at the Grammys after receiving four nominations earlier this year. She also won Junos for artist of the year and songwriter of the year at a Saturday gala.

Fair enough.

"Recorded entirely under solar power," Brightblack Morning Light like things like tee-pees, headbands and most likely hallucinogenic drugs. More solar power to 'em. Their second album of slow motion hippie blues, Motion to Rejoin, is due September 23rd on Matador. [DOWNLOAD]

Consider Rook essential summer listening. Like your "Summer Reading" list, Rook isn't really "summer-y" at all. It's heavy, dense, dramatic and beautiful and dark. Four of those five adjectives actually DO apply to summer, come to think of it... - jimtarnation  [READ REVIEW]
