The Yeah Yeah Yeah's follow up album, to their highly succesful Fever to Tell, Show Your Bones is a bit of a letdown. While in their first cd songs filled with passionate anger like "Date with the Night" and "Rich", the new cd is lacking in any screeching or growling by Karen O. That is what made her famous in the first place. She short of whisper sings and sings like a normal woman. The next thing I noticed is that the guitar of Nick Zinner has been scaled back. Not too many memorable solo's like the one from "Maps", one of his best new solo's on "Mysteries" is entirely too short. Although his work on "Phenomena" is excellent. He makes that song the stand out track that it is. The drumming by Brian Chase was still excellent as usual. Some of the new sound shown on this album like "Warrior" I liked. Karen O. on this song did a great job of combining a confessional sound with a little anger.

Overall I would say that this album is better than alot of the stuff out their, but not up to par with what YYY is capable of.

Recomend tracks: "Phenomena" "Gold Lion"
