The Fratellis don't follow the formula of the average indie rock band of the 2000s. Jon (vocals/guitar), Barry (bass), and Mince Fratelli (drums/vocals) inject a healthy dose of energy into the British rock scene with their frenetic debut. The best part about this album is the band's ability to cover the rock and roll spectrum. "For the Girl" and "Creepin' Up The Backstairs" sound like they could've been hits during the British invasion; "Flathead" had catchy enough vocal and guitar riffs to be featured on a vibrant, multicolored iPod commercial; the chorus of "Henrietta" would fit well as a part of a vaudville show. These three lads from Glasgow act as though they're rock and roll veterans, and as a result, Costello Music does not have a single faulty or misplaced track. Songs to check out: "Henrietta," "Flathead," "Chelsea Dagger," "Creepin' Up the Backstairs"
