Like a marathoner who loses concentration 1/3rd of the way into the race, at War with the Mystics, begins strong and ends stronger. Although never off course, the album will leave you wondering if you made a wrong turn with songs like “The Wizard Turns On” and “Vein of Star”; however on a second listen you realize you never really knew where this album was heading.

Like a 600lbs gorilla, the album demands your attention. Careful listeners will find a layer of peculiar humor and angelic harmonization; add a heavy dose of political views tempered with the message of tolerance when walking in others shoes and you can just imagine the layer of depth to certain songs.
