When I first bought this cd, soon after thier taking home of the shortlist trophy, I first didn't get into very much. It must have great right? Beating out the likes of Wilco, Franz Ferdinand, Modest Mouse, and The Streets. I didn't really know what to think of it. But after nearly 9 months I listned to it again I felt as though I had unearthed some long lost gem. TVOTR has quickly become one of my favorite bands. I just wish that the cd had more songs to it. 9 tracks is never enough to satisfy me as a full length. Every single song I have heard them play has been awe inspiring.

The debut LP from New York city's TV on the Radio, is a masterwork of fusion of sound. Tunde sings like one of the best gospel or doo-wop singers of all time. Of all the singers in all the hip indie bands, Tunde has arguably the best voice. The lyrics in each of the songs are dark, mysterious, and deeply poetic. All of the beats created by David Andrew Sitek are amazingly well done. From the synthesized beats of "Staring At the Sun" to the vocal beats provided in "Ambulance".

I can't wait for their new cd, entitled Return to Cookie Mountain. (Although I'm not not too excited about that title)

Recomended tracks: The entire cd, plus the New Health Rock single included with certain copies
